Ray Angelini, Inc. (RAI) completed a 6 Megawatt DC merchant solar project in three months in 2016, specifically a solar farm supplying power to the grid in the PSE&G service territory of New Jersey. Located in Wrightstown, the project required installation of 18,468 325-watt photovoltaic panels, racking and 129 string inverters, main medium-voltage switchgear and medium-voltage transformers, utility poles for aerial services and site lighting. RAI also completed NETA I-V Curve Testing and Commissioning, System Integration Services for PJM/First Energy RTU and for telephone and internet coordination, site restoration for 1.4 million sq. ft. of area, and a perimeter access road.
The 6 megawatt system is expected to produce approximately 8.35 MWH—enough electricity to power approximately 900 homes a year.
Manpower varied from a minimum of two to a maximum of 53 throughout the project. Labor hours totaled 21,585, some due to compression of schedule. The project was completed with no lost time work accidents.
