Replacement of Ben Franklin Bridge Administration Building Complex Electric Service and Distribution System, Delaware River Port Authority (DRPA)

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
Provide a new power distribution system to all buildings in the Ben Franklin Bridge Administration Complex in Camden, NJ

RAI performed all work to install this project, including: all distribution equipment, transfer switches, transformers, transfer switches, underground duct bank and manholes, FRE conduit to the bridge anchorage, diesel generator, ventilation fans, cabling, controls, startup & commissioning and all other work associated with this project.

RAI scope included, but was not limited to:

  • Furnish, install, test and commission all new pad-mounted transformers and switchboards for the building power to the administrative complex buildings.
  • Furnish and install all conduit in duct banks to provide power and communications to each of the buildings in the administrative complex.
  • Work included: excavation, reinforcing steel, concrete encasement, manholes, sidewalk replacement and pavement repair.
  • Furnish, install and test all new cable and wire needed for the power and communications systems to the buildings in the administrative complex and the fare line booths.
  • Furnish and install new FRE conduit and 5KV cable from the bridge entrance manhole system to and into the bridge anchorage, running the conduit under the bridge on new supports, involving track outages with PATCO.
  • Furnish, install and test new 5KV switches in the anchorage for the primary power to the administrative complex.
  • Furnish, install, test and commission a new diesel-powered Caterpillar generator in the anchorage, including sound deadening equipment, automatic transfer switches, exhaust piping, cooling condenser with piping, and fuel piping.
  • Furnish, install, and test power ventilators in the anchorage including all controls.
