THE SOLUTION FOR ALL OF YOUR ELECTRICAL NEEDS

Gloucester Township Renewable Energy Project

Ray Angelini, Inc. (RAI), designed and installed a photovoltaic power generation facility, made up of 17 solar arrays in total—a combination of ground, canopy and rooftop—to supply six megawatts (6 MW) of electricity, equivalent to the annual energy consumption of approximately 850 homes, or an annual reduction of 4,200 tons of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. Eleven sites benefit from this ground-breaking solar energy project: eight schools in the Gloucester Township Public Schools district, two schools in the Black Horse Pike Regional School District, and a Gloucester Township Department of Public Works building.

In an October 2013 ceremonial “flip-the-switch” event held on the rooftop of one of the sites, Gloucester Township Mayor David R. Mayer dubbed the project, “the largest shared services agreement between two school districts and a township in New Jersey.”
