Summary
Michael J. Walsh was formerly Regional Vice President of Development for Harrah’s Atlantic City Operations. In this role he was responsible for initiatives related to the strategic growth of Harrah’s Resort Atlantic City Casino/Hotel, Caesar’s Atlantic City Casino/Hotel, Bally’s Atlantic City Casino/Hotel and Showboat Atlantic City Casino/Hotel. Additionally, he was responsible for 3rd party venture relationship opportunities and the plans implicit in those relationships.  

 

Michael has held various senior level leadership and executive positions throughout his 30 year casino/hotel career with both Caesars Entertainment and Harrah’s Entertainment. His responsibilities have ranged from Finance to Property General Manager/COO to Strategic Development.  

 

His accomplishments are broad and encompass both the corporate and non-corporate worlds. He represented Harrah’s four AC casino/hotel properties on the Casino Association of New Jersey (a trade association of the AC casinos). He was appointed, by the Governor of the State of New Jersey, a member of the Board of Trustees of the Casino Reinvestment Development Authority from October, 2007 to January, 2010.

 

Since 2003, Michael has been a member of the Board of Trustees of AtlantiCare Health System (winner of the 2009 Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award) and chairs the AtlantiCare Health Services Board of Directors. He was a founding member of the Board of Trustees of Holy Spirit High School in Absecon, NJ. He served as a Trustee on the Board of Trustees of the Welfare Fund and Pension Fund for UNITE HERE International Union, from 1996 to 2010.

 

Michael chaired the United Way of Atlantic County’s Casino Division campaigns in 2001 and 2002; chaired the Advance Sales Ticket Committee for the 2000 PGA Championship at Valhalla in Kentucky; and, chaired the Casino Association of Indiana in 1999.

 

A certified public accountant, Michael received his Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the Pennsylvania State University and has attended Duke University’s Fuqua School’s ITT Executive Development Program.
