Job Opening: Project Manager, Commercial Electrical Segment

Projects in the commercial electrical segment fall within Ray Angelini, Inc. (RAI) Industrial & Utilities Services.  The Project Manager reports to the Vice President, General Manager.

Overall responsibilities include coordinating, managing and implementing the following for and with the client:  projects estimating; schedule creation and tracking, RFIs, and change orders; contract drawings and document review; and labor, material, and equipment cost tracking.

Leadership responsibilities of this position:

  • report any unsafe working practices or hazardous working conditions to the Director of Safety
  • set clear project objectives, assembling project requirements, managing project cost, implementing time management, upholding quality and building to contractual scope
  • shape the most important factors in the planning stages of the project including time, scope and budget
  • allocate and integrate all necessary inputs to meet project objectives and plan for risk
  • assess any warning signs of troubled projects through company monitoring, control processes, and systems as well as experience and aptitude in the electrical field and convey to management
  • manage corrective actions and implement changes to offset scope creep, schedule impact, changing specifications, incompetence, changes in the business environment, inadequate resources and a litany of other miscellaneous problems
  • understand the uniqueness of each project and keep checking the project against the plan as well as learnings from experiences on previous projects
  • manage project team effectively, consider the necessary experience and technical skills and look at critical roles and responsibilities as well as the dynamics between team members. How will the person fit in with organizational beliefs and goals? How will the person relate to the stakeholder group?
  • offer a clear understanding of what is expected of each project team member
  • learn the value of adapting to a changing environment, learn from mistakes
  • guide and influence the project team toward reaching objectives
  • make team members and clients feel they have a real stake in the successful completion of the project
  • maintain good communications with customers as well as fellow employees

Required training, experience and education:

  • Electrical field experience
  • Business degree
  • On-the-job training
  • OSHA 30
  • NFPA 70E
